THE GENESIS -

EARLY CAREER AND EDUCATION

Tebatso’s story began long before social media. At just 10 years old, she modeled for Bolux Milling Group in a nationwide billboard campaign. She later transitioned into entertainment as a gate-taker, voice-over artist, and event planner in Gaborone.

Her academic path took her to Johannesburg, South Africa, where she completed her Public Relations and Communications Management undergraduate at the University of Johannesburg (UJ). There, she distinguished herself as a leader by:

 

Entertainment PR & Events Management

During holidays back in Botswana, Tebatso gained hands-on experience with some of the country’s top entertainment figures, including renowned female music promoters Zenzele Hirschfield, Thato “Scar” Matlhabaphiri, and Odirile “Vee” Sento. She managed PR, promotions, and high-profile events for them.
In South Africa, she interned at Trinity Entertainment SA, where she coordinated provincial dance workshops…

Media Production & MARKETING

Tebatso worked for News company Botswana as a Producer and Production Manager producing and managing Television Commercials, Music Videos, Documentaries, events, and promotions, Magazine covers for a lifestyle glossy magazine called Lapologa and marketing a weekly Newspaper called the Botswana Gazette.

Later promoted to Senior Producer and Production Manager at News Company Botswana, Tebatso oversaw:

Advocacy & Membership

Tebatso is a sophomore in the Women in News, African Women in Media Leadership program, run by the World Association of Newspapers and Publishers. This prestigious global initiative aims to advance gender equality and inclusion in the media industry. It brings together a network of women media leaders active in more than 20 countries across Africa, Southeast Asia, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Arab Region.

She is also honored to be the first (and currently) only Motswana from Botswana member of the Southern African Communications Industries Association (SACIA). SACIA, a SAQA-recognized professional body, promotes professional standards and ethical business practices in the entertainment and communications industry across Southern Africa. She is pursuing professional designations in event management and event safety with them.
